Cycle trip 2013. Poland

Poland. A land of contrasts. Beach. Forests. Back roads. Sand roads. Main roads. Winds. Heat. Friendly people. Cycle forum help. Part of my cycle trip from Eindhoven to the North Cape.

Previous country: Germany
Next country: Russia

Day 8. 106km. Swinoujscie – Dzwirzyno: A tough, hot day to start my Poland adventure. Sandy bike paths or main roads wore me out. I ended the day lying on the beach recovering.
Day 9. 203km. Dzwirzyno – Łeba: An absolutely awesome day. Top notch bike paths, speed stretches on good road surfaces, bumpy, sliding sand tracks, fields, forests, bush bashing. 203km to Łeba.
Day 10. 137km. Łeba – Hel: I wanted to sleep in and have a lazy amble to Hel – it should have been a short day. Instead it was a long and sunny day ending in Hel.
Day 11. 32km. Hel – Gdansk: My 11th day was not dominated by cycling. Instead it involved skyping, sleeping, grocery shopping, lieing on the beach in Hel, sharing cycling and life notes with a fellow German/Australian cyclist, meeting two lovely Polish forum people, drinking, dining and sightseeing in Gdansk, oh, and a little bit of cycling.
Day 12. 121km. Gdansk – Frombork: I declare today hot. At least for cycling. But really lovely weather. Sunny. Beautiful. The fields radiate out summer and life. The forests are cool relief from the sun and a beautiful green. Life is good.
