Today and tomorrow are rest days, today in Tallinn and tomorrow in Helsinki. With grey skies and colder weather, I felt like a day of lounging around and sleeping.

The kind of ‘half-way’ goal has been reached – the beautiful Tallinn. From now on I cycle in Scandinavia in Finland, Sweden and Norway. A sunny day through the fields with Thomas. Arrival in the Tallinn market square in glorious sunshine. Evening walk and dinner with Ranno and friends.

What started as a slow, relaxing beach day, turned into a mad dash through a torrential downpour to an uncertain destination along sand roads. I totally misjudged, but landed on my feet.

Onward to beautiful Riga, arriving in a torrential downpour. A very refreshing one.
After 16 days of cycling onward, always onward, today I stopped. I ate. I slept. I did some internet, and I lay on the banks of the river.

The first feelings of endless forests. Wide roads, and a jump in the distances. Everything is further apart, which I experienced in the bright, hot sun of the Latvian midsummer. Midsummer night is a latvian night of celebration with bonfires, drinking and frivolities.
Day 15. 102km. Nida – Sventoji

A slow amble along the Lithuanian Curonian Spit. Sleep in, lazy breakfast, lunch and early dinner in Klaipeda. Then a 40km sprint to make the daily distance somewhat respectable.

I melted today on the dead straight road into Калининград. The border crossing was easy. Finding the hotel was not. Hotel Internet and money was also challenging. не работает.
