The last leg of my route planning for my big world bike trip – Australia. I start in Darwin, and end in Adelaide. I haven’t decided which way I want to get to Adelaide.
The shortest way is ‘down the middle’. I have done this before in the car several times, and would like to see something different.
Two other options are along the west coast, or along the east coast. The west coast is attractive as it is so remote and unvisited. I have never been there, and would like to see it. I have been to the east coast. There are a lot of attractions there, and also more people.
I will decide what I do when I am there.
Looks like your trip is coming together. I am really excited to be following your adventure. It’s my last day in the office today … woohoo!
And then your adventure starts? That will be an amazing trip too!!
Enjoy!
Yeah. I am staying at Stradbroke Island near my home until the end of June because it is a compromise I made with work (I am still working until end of June but fully off-site) and then I am off 🙂 I fly to Radelaide on 8 July.
Cool!
Nullarbor plain will be heavy to finish !
Good luck with your trip.
Thanks Ruud. Not sure which way I’m cycling in Australia yet. The Nullabor Plain would be tough.
Bring a sail, when you hit Perth and turn left the winds are prodominately West to East, having driven it quite a few times it can get boring, for some reason I have only ever seen cyclist pedalling East to West, watch out for the pirates at the roadhouses…
If I do the west coast, I will then be going from West to east along the Nullabor. Might be a bit hot and boring though. 🙂
