‘Do you want this? My chicken is too spicy?’ Will pushed his meal towards Clement to eat.
‘It’s fish,’ replied Clement.
Will blushed. In the last week he has mistaken both pork and now fish for chicken. They must have interesting chickens in Ireland.

Endless palm plantations
Today I passed 32000km from Eindhoven. I’m getting dangerously near the end..

32000km
Palm plantations, palm plantations, as far as the eye can see. Covering the rolling hills to eternity. The road remained challengingly up and down until 30km before Tawau, so a sweaty affair, cooled off once by a torrential downpour.

Endless palm plantations
In Tawau it was time for an air-conditioned hotel, and a day off waiting for the boat to Indonesia. Bliss.
Pretty impressive mileage yet it seems that you’re reluctant to get to the end destination?!
Yes. The end is a bit frightening. 🙂 It was always the plan to arrive in September. I’m taking my time waiting for the winter to cross the desert in Australia.
Congratulations Mathew, your thougths will Always on the road, there is no end of the trip.
There is an end, and it’s approaching fast..
Congrats on reaching 32,000 k. That’s a long way!
Seeing the endless palm plantations is heart-breaking. I wonder how many species have been lost forever? 😦 Is the economic gain really worth it? I am sure in the game of survival, they would say so. We westerners are to blame for creating such demand, using the cheap palm oil in everything. Sigh.
Have a safe journey to Indonesia.
Thanks.. it’s taking a long time toget Sulawesi. The boat schedules remain a mystery.
