I wasn’t expecting it, but, today turned into a head-down and burn the kilometre day. Cycling along the ‘Sabai dee’ valley of little kids waving in excitement, we made it to the beautiful jewel of Laos – Luang Prabang.
With Luang Prabang 140km away, and with the limited daylight hours, and evening spent on the way seemed inevitable. After an early start, and a quick 1000m descent along improved roads, we started out eating the kilometres to our distant goal. The mountains got pointier, and we hit the languid river that would follow us into Luang Prabang. Beautiful.
Nice pictures! Me and my partner will be in Bangkok from mid November, and then cycling around Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia in the following months. I wonder if we’ll ever be near to you?
Happy cycling 🙂
Hi there. Very possible. I’ll be in Laos until mid-November and then Cambodia. I’ll be running in the half marathon in Siem Reap on December 6. What are your plans?
Hmm… It doesn’t sound like serendipity is quite in our favour. What a shame!
Our plans are: Thailand (North) for Nov/Dec, Laos Dec/Jan, Vietnam Feb, Cambodia March, back to the south of Thailand for April and May. If our route or timings change I’ll mention it to you.
After your marathon what are your plans?
I’ll be cycling to Bangkok after the marathon..
Wow, as if cycling there wasn’t enough! 🙂 Good luck with the cycling and the running, and I’ll give you a message if it looks as if our paths could cross!

Sounds good to me! 🙂
